A photographer by passion, and a writer at heart, Karishma Mehta started ‘Humans of Bombay’ in 2014, inspired by the concept of ‘Humans of New York’. Today 'Humans of Bombay’ is an immensely popular storytelling page on social media platforms with millions of followers. The page has turned into a catalyst for change, helping several people through crowdfunding.
Beyond photography, Karishma’s talents extend to the maintenance, writing, and editing of the ‘Humans of Bombay’ page, showcasing her versatility as an entrepreneur, writer, and photographer.
‘Humans Of Bombay’ also has a YouTube channel with over 400,000 subscribers where you can watch Karishma’s talk show called ‘How The Hell Did I Do It’, started in 2022. The talk show aims to inspire and educate her audience on the various paths to success and the challenges encountered along the way and has featured eminent personalities like Aamir Khan, Harsha Bhogle, MBA Chaiwala, Harsh Mariwala, and Anupam Mittal among many others.

Karishma has self-published a book titled ‘Humans of Bombay’ as her first attempt to directly raise money to fund the website.
She won an award at the DNA Women Achievers Awards 2023 in the category of Voice of the Voiceless in Media.
In 2019, Karishma got an opportunity to interview Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi wherein he talked about his childhood and his family among other things.
